Congregational Care

"Unless churches can
replace busyness and survival anxiety with a rediscovery of their
spiritual center and a willingness to listen for God's call, they will
continue losing energy and relevance."

founding president of the Alban Institute

Congregations
are on a corporate spiritual journey. They are in a constant
struggle to balance their organizational life, their ministry to one
another, and their ministry to the community. A congregation also has
need to give attention to aspects of its life together that open it
to the possibilities of the Spirit.
In their book, "Discerning God's Will Together: A Spiritual Practice
for the Church," Charles Olsen and Danny Morris say, "People are
weary from church business as usual, from church gatherings that do
not connect with the deeper meanings of their life and faith."
The following ministries are available to churches
who desire to integrate spiritual practices with their administration and mission:
-
Retreats or workshops for church
teams, staffs, boards, councils,
deacons, or other ministry groups.
-
Spiritual discernment process for churches or groups at
important junctures of decision-making and planning.
-
Church and/or personal consultations around issues such
as envisioning, transitions, renewal, conflict, staff relations
and development.
